Each set comes packaged in an archival box covered with gold Nishijin brocade. The color combination may be different than in the photos depending on availability. *The handling of the papers in the video is for illustrative purposes only.*
Each sheet is separated by archival tissue to protect from scratches. To maximize the age, keep prints out of direct sunlight and in a low moisture environment. It's also best to not touch the printed areas with your hands, as oil may cause the ink to fade or the paper to age.
The stack of sheets is placed in a plastic zipper bag and placed inside a specialized, archival-quality cardboard box. We are currently exploring options for a box upgrade, but you can feel safe with using this box, as it will help protect against aging and fading.
This collection uses the standard option for our prints. These are printed using archival-quality inks on archival-quality Awagami Kozo Thick White, in A4 size. With this size, our top-of-the-line commercial inkjet printer prints at around 600 dpi.
The colors have been modified to bring back some vibrancy, so these appear more like they did back when they were originally printed in the 1800s. Small amounts of editing may be done on these prints to remove damages that have appeared over the decades, but our goal is to share a broad range of prints true to how they looked when first printed.
The Awagami Bizan papers have deckled edges, so printing options are limited. Awagami Bizan Handmade Thick 300gsm washi is unavailable in A4. When selecting Aiban and Oban sizes, these papers are printed in those sizes but on A3+ (13" x 19") paper, so there will be large, white borders.
No frame is included. The frames in the images are for illustrative purposes only. If you frame your prints, please use a frame that protects against UV rays.
