About Ukiyo-e Works
A Love of Japanese Artwork
Ukiyo-e Works came about because of constant exposure to Japanese art through our kimono shop.
After operating kimono shop that ships out of Japan for five years, we decided to expand into high-quality, on-demand art prints. Ukiyo-e woodblock prints were originally made to be available at low prices for the masses, but true modern-day woodblock prints are very expensive because there are so few producing them. It's also hard to find 99% of prints because the demand isn't high enough for new print blocks to be carved.
We spent a year working through the printing process and have cleaned and repaired the full set of 53 Stations of the Tokkaido, which is available as a collection with a special box. All of our prints are archival quality, so, when stored properly, they'll last 100 years without fading or ageing.
We have also started to branch out to sell print-on-demand clothing and accessories so people can publicly express their love for Japanese art.
We hope you'll find something that you love and want to bring home. If there's a piece of art that you want, please contact us so we can look into selling it.
