We offer Japanese woodblock print reproductions using one of the best inkjet printers on the planet with archival-quality inks and papers

When stored and handled properly, the ink and paper can last 100 years without fading or yellowing. Certain paper options may not be archival and scrolls might age due to the various traditional materials and methods used in manufacturing the scrolls.

These are printed on demand, though popular prints are oftentimes printed in anticipation of orders. Smaller orders will usually ship within a couple days, but prints of full sets will likely take a week. Scrolls need additional processing time, and will take 1-2 weeks. Papers need two days to dry before shipping.

If requested papers are unavailable from the manufacturer or if we're have run out of materials and are unable to obtain enough to produce scrolls or boxes, we'll inform the customer of the estimated time production will be completed.

We use high-resolution scans of ukiyo-e prints from the early 20th century and older, and digitally clean and repair the prints to recreate the original appearance when first printed. This helps to preserve the grain lines and other artifacts from the original woodblock printing process instead of producing clean, fully-digital prints.

For example, in the case of holes or lines, we will oftentimes combine multiple prints into one. We also expand and bring out colors that have faded, bringing back a long-lost vibrancy. Our goal is to remain faithful to the original work.
